Two years ago I visited Tokyo's Haneda airport for the very first time. I spent several hours spotting at observation decks respecively at teriminal 1 and terminal 2. I must say that I enjoyed that visit, which was described in the post "Konnichiwa Haneda" and promised myself to return to this airport when the opportunity would arises. Luckily I didn't have to wait too long as this August, after a courtesy business meeting nearby, I had enough time to check how the airport looks like nowadays. This time, since it was already early afternoon, I decided to start my visit at the observation deck at terminal 3 to catch some international visitors. After spending two hours there I moved (using the free shuttle service) to terminal 2. Normally, I would say that it was really cool, however typically August in Japan is rather hot and humid, so I had to sacrifice a bit to execute my hobby. Luckily, there are vending machines with drinks at all observation decks, while air con in the terminal building does a good job so there is always an option to get cooled a bit.
Nevertheless, I must admit that I was lucky both with the weather and the traffic. While during my first visit I took mainly shots of Japanese carriers, this time I had a chance to catch a few international visitors - mainly from mainland China - such as Air China (with Airbus A330 and A321), Shanghai Airlines (Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner) and China Southern Airlines (Boeing 777-300). Additionally I got a single Chiana Airlines Airbus A330 and British Airways Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. There was also a good selection of All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines planes, out of which my favorite was ANA's Boeing 777-200 in Star Wars - C-3PO livery. A selection of my catches of that day can be seen below.
