Back in the summer of 2023 I was in transfer at Fukuoka on my way to Haneda airport in Tokyo. At that time I didn't have much opportunity for spotting but I promissed myself that I'll take the chance to return to this lovely airport as soon as possible. About one year later, in late September 2024, the luck turned back to me and I managed to revisit the airport.

What encouraged me to return to Fukuoka? The truth is that I was impressed both by variety of Asian airlines operating there as well as by nice spotting positions offered by two observation decks and places at both ends of the sole runway. Also, I have to admit that I was very lucky with weather. When I checked the schedule and sun movement on the day when I planned to go for picture taking, I realized that the best time for use the observation deck at the roof of the domestic terminal is early mornig. Thus, I went there before 8am and wasn't dissapointed at all. As you may see from the selection of photos published below, I caught some regional traffic as well as quite a few Japanese carriers. Additionally I got some traffic from South Korea and Taiwan plus United Boeing 737-800 acting as an island hopper based in Guam. However, my favourite catch was an ATR42 of Amakusa Airlines (being its sole plane). Feel free to browse my photos from RJFF:
