This summer my family wanted to spend our holidays in Greece. We all love this country, its ancient culture, heart welcoming people and delicious cuisine. However, first of all, we’ve been all looking forward to getting as much sun as possible. Since we’re always keen on catching a bit of history, we started the Greek adventure in Athens. The city has its charm and serves not only as a good gateway to the country, but also offers a lot of great possibilities to get around either by car, plane or ferry.

As we’ve been already to Athens some years ago and thus I didn’t feel like visiting some places once again, I managed to find a gap in our packed schedule for morning spotting session at Eleftherios Venizelos airport.  Having stayed several hours near the approach to rwy 03L, I got quite a few nice catches, even though in August around 09am I faced already a heat haze issue. Because of that, I wasn’t really happy with my shots of smaller planes (such as ATRs and biz-jets). Nevertheless I was satisfied with several widebodies - including Delta Air Lines A350 (my first one!), Air China A350 and United B787-10 - as well as smaller planes such as ITA A320 in "born 2021" livery and few 737 freighters. See a modest selection of shots uploaded to jetphotos.com below.
